A recent study indicated people were less likely to move house than they were some 30-40 years ago.

Figures indicated the number of movers in the last decade was 1 million less than in the 1970's. A number of reasons were suggested for this including the cost of moving, property prices, job insecurity and property taxes.

Interestingly, the number of self storage facilities and the rapid growth in this particular sector almost mirrors the reduction in number of moves suggesting a more static population who are prepared to spend on storing goods rather than moving to a larger property.
